How to practise it

  1. Index on fret 5, middle on 6, ring on 7, pinky on 8 — keep the hand still and let the fingers do the work.
  2. Alternate your plucking fingers strictly: index, middle, index, middle — also when you cross to the next string.
  3. Leave each fretting finger down until the next one has landed, so the notes join up without gaps.
  4. Start at 60 BPM. Only speed up when you can play it cleanly three times in a row — the goal is 120 BPM.
